Jade Mountain announces partnership with Regenerative Travel

SOUFRIERE, ST. LUCIA – Jade Mountain is one of the newest members of Regenerative Travel, a benefit corporation and collection of independent hotels and lodges committed to regenerative hospitality.

“Having operated sustainably for decades we felt the time had come to take our efforts further,” explains Karolin Troubetzkoy. “As travelers grow increasingly aware of how their choices impact small communities and the environment on a greater global scale, we’re proud to join a group of innovative properties and hoteliers who are working towards a common goal of encouraging travel that’s more purposeful and meaningful, in support of properties and organizations that are helping their local communities thrive.”

Joining the Regenerative Travel Hotel Community connects members with a values-aligned community of hoteliers, providing a platform to share best practices and drive aspirations towards regenerative models. The criteria for members adhere to Regenerative Travel’s ethos of inclusivity over exclusivity, creating a standard that is both objective and subjective, measurable, and that is rigorous but considers value and intent. Jade Mountain joins a selection of five-star properties that are breaking the mold when it comes to their regenerative efforts, including The Manta Resort in Tanzania, Andronis Concept Wellness Resort in Santorini, Cherero Camp in the Central-Western Serengeti, Rockhouse Hotel in Negril, Playa Viva in Mexico and the Future Found Sanctuary in Cape Town, among others.

Ever since making St. Lucia their home in the 70’s, Jade Mountain Architect Nick Troubetzkoy and Executive Director Karolin Troubetzkoy strived to create a resort experience that harmoniously immerses travelers in nature, connects them to the local community and thoughtfully considers their impact on the environment. In addition to employing a staff of  almost 100% St. Lucian nationals, the property restored the historical 1.5-million-gallon reservoir in the Anse Mamin Valley to use this space as a catchment for both rain and river water while using their fresh water treatment station to directly supply their resort.

ABOUT JADE MOUNTAIN ( www.jademountain.com)

One of the Caribbean’s most mesmerizing resort experiences, Jade Mountain overlooks St. Lucia’s twin Piton peaks, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Jade Mountain’s bold design was conceived by architect and owner Nick Troubetzkoy whose philosophy is to build in harmony with Caribbean nature and the environment. Individual bridges lead to exceptional open-walled sanctuaries making it one of the Caribbean’s most mesmerizing resort experiences. In the sanctuaries, the bedroom, living area and an extravagant private infinity pool glide into one another to form extraordinary platforms that seem to float out into nature. With the fourth wall entirely absent, Jade Mountain’s sanctuaries are stage-like settings from which to embrace Saint Lucia’s full scenic glory. Jade Mountain and its sister property, Anse Chastanet enjoy one of the Caribbean’s most scenic settings, nestled in a 600-acre estate with two soft sand beaches bordering pristine coral reefs.
