May 2016 – This August will see St. Lucia celebrate its famous Cocoa Bean and Chocolate heritage month and, as home to the island’s first and only ‘bean to bar’ organic chocolate maker within a five star resort, Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet provide the perfect location to join in the festivities.

Guided tours around the resort’s enchanted Emerald Estate and Chocolate Laboratory to witness the complete cycle of ‘Tree to Bar’ production are available to chocoholic guests, as well chocolate infused tasting menus and chocolate and wine pairings workshops. The Willy-Wonka style Chocolate Laboratory also hosts a variety of activities at the heart of the action, from Sensory Tasting experiences to truffle-making classes.

Anse Chastanet’s Dan Dous (“sweet tooth” in creole patois) will see guests being greeted with chocolate cocktails and treats upon arrival, a one hour chocolate spa treatment and a chocolate sensory tasting of the resort’s own organically grown and home-made chocolates and a visit to the resort’s organic farm in the Soufriere hills.

Those who seek unadulterated confectionary perfection can opt for Jade Mountain’s Chocolate Alchemy package, which boasts all the gourmet delights of the Dan Dous package, plus a Chocolate Lovers’ Breakfast in Bed and chocolate master class. Here, sweet-toothed guests will learn the basic techniques of making chocolate, tempering chocolate, concocting fudge and crafting personalised chocolate bars, all in the on-site Chocolate Laboratory.
