Jade Mountain Offers Virtual One-Way Ticket to Paradise

SOUFRIERE, ST. LUCIA – April 2020: While travel to the island of St. Lucia is currently on pause, the renowned Jade Mountain resort is helping consumers around the globe virtually escape to the island right from the comforts of home.

24/7 Livestream

Anyone in need of a tropical getaway can visit the resort’s new virtual traveler website, which includes a live property webcam, downloadable Zoom backgrounds of the majestic Pitons and Caribbean Sea, and virtual tours ranging from yoga inside one of the resort’s famous guest ‘sanctuaries,’ to local chef recipes, organic farm tours, biking through lush jungle trails, and an underwater dive where viewers can explore St. Lucia’s stunning coral reefs right from their couch. In addition, the resort’s James Beard Award-Winning Chef Allen Susser is hosting a serious of summer-inspired cooking tutorials on the property’s Instagram TV. Author of the Green Fig and Lionfish cookbook, which recently earned several 2020 Gourmand Awards, including Best Caribbean Cuisine and Best Sustainable Cuisine, has also created a GoFundMe where contributions are being distributed among resort team members and their families.

“We look forward to welcoming guests as soon as the government deems it safe for travelers to visit St. Lucia. Until then, we hope that these virtual experiences will help our friends and supporters enjoy the beauty of the island from the comforts of home. During this time, our team is focused on helping the local community and taking the necessary steps to ensure an amazing experience for our guests once they return,” said Jade Mountain’s Executive Director Karolin Troubetzkoy.

Back on the home-front, resort employees have dedicated their time to support those in need by preparing meals as part of the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association’s island-wide initiative to deliver more than 3,000 meals to locals. Jade Mountain has also pledged $100 from each reservation made on or before June 30th towards a community fund created to aid its employees, and is participating in a Buy Now, Stay Later initiative where future travelers can purchase bonds in increments of $100 that will mature with time and ultimately give them more to spend on future visits. Jade Mountain and sister resort Anse Chastanet have also launched an online shop, www.ansejadestore.com, where signature products such as wood furnishings, handicrafts, and chocolate can be purchased and shipped to anywhere in North America.

Spread across 600 lush acres edged with stunning coastline, Jade Mountain overlooks St. Lucia’s majestic twin Pitons — a UNESCO World Heritage site — and the sparkling Caribbean Sea. The resort’s bold design was conceived by architect and owner Nick Troubetzkoy, whose philosophy is to build in harmony with Caribbean nature and the environment. One of the Caribbean’s most mesmerizing resort experiences, individual bridges lead to exceptional open-walled sanctuaries that seem to float out into nature with touches like four-poster canopy beds, en-suite infinity pools, and private butler service. With the fourth wall entirely absent, Jade Mountain’s sanctuaries are stage-like settings from which to embrace Saint Lucia’s full scenic glory. The resort has been named one the world’s top Caribbean hotels by Condé Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure. www.jademountain.com
